David Ian Salter(July 18, 1966) is an editor of the fourth Ice Age film, Ice Age: Continental Drift.

Having upwards of fifteen years of experience in the animation industry, Salter was an employee at the animation company Pixar from 1996 to 2003, working on two of the company's films, Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo. Following this, Salter moved on to the DreamWorks Animation company, in which he developed and directed projects, also working with, among others, Errol Morris and Rockstar Games, along with collaborating on an animated Israeli feature film. Salter has earned a BA from Brandeis University in 1988, an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 1992, and stands as a member of American Cinema Editors, an honorary society of film editors.
