David Louis Newman (born March 11, 1954 in Los Angeles, California) is a award-winning film score composer. He composed the soundtrack for Ice Age.

Newman was born into a family of music composers as the son of composer Alfred Newman, brother of composer Thomas Newman, cousin of composers Randy and Joey Newman, and nephew of composers Emil and Lionel Newman and is married to Krystyna Newman, with whom he has a child.

He penned the score for Ice Age. Newman received a BMI Film Music Award in 2002 for Ice Age. Other works include Galaxy Quest, Bedazzled, Anastasia, Coneheads, Matilda and many others.
