Spider monkeys are small primates that lived during the ice ages.

Traits

Thinly-built primates, spider monkeys are quick-moving, arboreal mammals that make use of their four long limbs and prehensile long tail to climb about through trees. The spider monkeys of the ice ages sported multicolored pelts and bright orange eyes. Herbivorous mammals, spider monkeys subside off fruits, leaves and flowers.

Trivia

• Originally, spider monkeys were supposed to appear in the second film, but were cut for unknown reasons. However, spider monkeys appear in a few of Ice Age video games such as the Ice Age 2: The Meltdown video game and Ice Age Village. There's also a concept art featuring a spider monkey from the second film can be found.
