Captain Gutt was a Gigantopithecus that took to being a self-styled master and captain of the high seas.

BiographyEdit

Gutt, along with a small crew of other animals, took to the seas on a massive ice floe that resembled a galleon made of ice and plant matter. Out at sea, Gutt and his crew took to a piratical lifestyle and raided ice floes with other creatures, notably one ridden by Manny, Sid, Diego and Sid's Grandmother, launching massive chunks of ice at it in an attack.Gutt is a prehistoric orangutan, and a massive brute of a pirate who has taken advantage of the chaos caused by the Continental Drift to become the self-appointed Master of the Seas. Whether he’s swinging through the rigging, leading his pirate crew in a shanty or just being an all-around badass dude, Gutt absolutely loves being a pirate and taking whatever he wants in the world. But when Manny and his crew steals his ship and the bounty he has amassed, Gutt’s wrath knows no bounds and he becomes determined to find Manny and get revenge.

At some point, Gutt and his crew captured Scrat, who was lost at sea and had found a map of sorts, etched onto an acorn shell: Gutt and his crew forced the Saber-tooth squirrel to board their ship as a captive.

Personality and TraitsEdit

A hostile ape, Gutt showed a short temper and anger in a flash when provoked, and was capable of grim humour at the expense of others.

As a Gigantopithecus, Gutt was a large, sinewy primate that, despite his bulk, was capable of fast movements like an orang-utan, and could climb virtually any surfaces if the need arose. Gutt sported a scalp of black hair that resembled a tricorne hat and a greying beard on his face, which displayed a mouth full of yellowed teeth. Along with this, Gutt's back fur tapered down his back like a coat. Gutt, as his weapon of choice, used a saw-fish skull as a sword-like implement.

Jeremy Renner was originally going to voice Captain Gutt, but was unavailable to voice the ape; Peter Dinklage decided to fill the role and voice the villain instead.
