Small, schooling fish, silver fish were the prey for several animals of the ice ages. True to their name, they were silver in color. They had large, bulging eyes, which they could use to see predators.

In Ice Age: Continental Drift, a group of silver fish were unlucky enough to run afoul of a sloth named Granny, who released oil from her fur while taking a bath, killing both them and a similarly unlucky shark.
