Triceratops was a species of herbivorous dinosaur. Triceratops lived during the Mesozoic Era, during the days of the late Cretaceous period.

A large herbivorous dinosaur, Triceratops grazed on plants and relied on its horns and frilled head for defense, cutting away at plants with its sharp beak.

were larger relatives of the Chasmosaurus. They appear in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, The Triceratops are shown very briefly, wading through a pond. A tiny hatchling with a massive frill for it's size followed behind, but was distracted by a lily in the pond. It's parents gruffly snorted and beckoned it to come, after which they all walked away, and Buck comes out of the pond.

History

A number of Triceratops had lived through the comet showers that had long since wiped out dinosaurs on a whole, making their way to an immense subterranean world where dinosaurs of all species existed as they did in the past.

One such herd of Triceratops existed as a family unit, consisting of a male and female, along with a young calf. This family waded through a pond that the weasel known as Buck was hiding in, the young one almost spotting him.

In Ice Age: Collision Course, a Mother Triceratops had her egg stolen by a family of Dino-Birds, but the egg was then rescued by a Weasel named Buck.
